- Note: The whole hat is worked in half double crochets
- Using color green
- R1: 6 hdc in magic circle (6 sts)
- R2: (hdc inc) 6 times {12 sts}
- R3: (hdc inc, hdc in next st) 6 times {18 sts}
- R4: (hdc inc, hdc in next 2 sts) 6 times {24 sts}
- R5: (hdc inc, hdc in next 3 sts) 6 times {30 sts}
- R6: (hdc inc, hdc in next 4 sts) 6 times {36 sts}
- R7: (hdc inc, hdc in next 5 sts) 6 times {42 sts}
- R8: (hdc inc, hdc in next 6 sts) 6 times {48 sts}
- R9-12: hdc in next 48 sts {48 sts}
- Change to color red
- R13-15: hdc in next 48 sts {48 sts}
- Fasten off and leave a long tail. Weave in ends. Flip up the red part on the hat. Feel free to add a pom pom to the top of the hat.
Scarf
- NOTE – Chain 1 is not considered a stitch, begin crocheting into the first stitch
- Using color red
- Make a slipknot and Chain 51
- Row 1: starting in the 2nd chain from the hook, sc in next 50 sts (50 sts)
- Chain 1, Turn
- Row 2: sc in next 50 sts (50 sts)
- Chain 1, Turn
- Row 3: sc in next 50 sts (50 sts)
- Fasten off and leave a tail. Weave in ends.
- Cut 6 pieces of green yarn about 3 inches long and attach them to end of the scarf.
- Place the yarn onto the hook.
- Pull the yarn through.
- Tighten the yarn at the base of the scarf.
- Add three pieces of yarn on each side.
- Unravel yarn to get the curly fringe l
Assembly
- Put the scarf around his neck. Put a dab of glue or a stitch to keep the scarf in place. I used Aleene’s Fabric Glue.
- Put a hat on his head to keep him toasty warm.
- Optional: Cut out 2 (1/2inch) pink felt circles and glue them underneath his eyes – giving him rosy cheeks:)
- Weave in all the excess pieces of yarn into the body.
- Please be aware that amigurumi contains small pieces and can be dangerous to children. If you’re selling this stuffed ami, please place a warning and also state that safety eyes are not recommended for anyone under the age of 3.
