Amigurumi Kiwi Bird Free Crochet Pattern

    Materials:

    • Yarn: YarnArt Jeans (brown #40, beige #87)
    • Hook size: 2.0 mm
    • 6 mm safety eyes
    • Black embroidery floss
    • Sewing needle and scissors
    • Sewing pins
    • Stitch marker
    • Chenille stem of 30 cm length for a beak (optional)
    • Fiberfill

    inc = 2 sc in the next stitch
    dec = single crochet 2 stitches together
    FLO = front loop only
    F.o. = finish off

    Beak

    Fold the chenille stem in half, twist it in a spiral. Insert the stem in the beak and in the head between the eyes. Pin the beak with sewing pins and sew it to the head. Shape the beak with your hand.

    Legs ( make 2)
    With beige yarn:
    The leg consists from two parts: 1 — a foot with toes, 2 — a shin.

    Part 1
    Toes (make 2)
    R 1: 6 sc in mc (6)
    R 2: (inc) * 6 (12)
    R 3-5: 12 sc (3 rows)

    Don’t cut the yarn when you’ll finish the second toe!

    Join two toes:
    R 6: 12 sc on the 1st toe, 12 sc on the 2nd toe (24)
    R 7: 24 sc
    R 8: (2 sc, dec) * 6 (18)
    R 9-10: 18 sc (2 rows)
    Stuff with fiberfill.
    R 11: (1 sc, dec) * 6 (12)

    Finish stuffing.

    Embroider claws on the toes with black floss.

    Part 2
    R 1: 6 sc in mc (6)

    F.o. and leave a long tail for sewing.

    Sew the part 2 throught back loops only to the center of the part 1 (a foot).

    Attach new yarn to the part 2.
    R 3: FLO 12 sc
    R 4-5: 12 sc (2 rows)
    R 6: 12 sc, 1 sl st
    Stuff with fiberfill.
    F.o. and leave a long tail for sewing.

    Sew the legs to the body, find the right position for sitting.

    Finish Amigurumi kiwi bird.
